GHPL is a non-operating partner, collaborating with both local and foreign exploration and production companies, who function as operators. This partnership model enables GHPL to strategically participate in upstream ventures through in-house due diligence while leveraging the technical expertise and operational capabilities of its partners.

GHPL’s Domestic Portfolio – Driving Energy Independence

As Pakistan’s national upstream partner, GHPL is actively contributing to the exploration and development of the country’s hydrocarbon resources. At inception, GHPL was assigned 19 exploration blocks under 1994/-97 policy in 2000. 

Later on, under 2009 & 2012 policy, GHPL continued to acquire working interests in 41 blocks. Under 2009 policy, GHPL acquired working interest in four exploration blocks. GHPL, under 2012 policy, exercised its optional right and acquired working interest in further 37 blocks with multiple local & foreign operators.

GHPL’s International Portfolio – Expanding Horizons

GHPL proudly represents Pakistan on the global energy stage as an equal shareholder in Pakistan International Oil Limited (PIOL)—a joint venture between GHPL, Mari Energies, OGDCL, and PPL—in strategic partnership with ADNOC for Offshore Block 5 in Abu Dhabi.
